Hello Everyone,
Come in...sit down...So Glad you stopped by for a visit. I would like to introduce myself to you & your family. I am Amy Lu Holland, born in Binghamton, New York in 1966. I have always had a love for animals from a young age. My father was suppose to bring home a kitten from the shelter but instead I got a dog (part springer spaniel/part beagle) Her name was Hiedi and she was mine...all mine at least I thought so. I shared her with 2 brothers but you couldn't tell. My father use to raise german sheperds in our area so dogs have always been in my life. It wasn't till I was in my 20's I decided I was gonna be a dog owner as an adult.
Strange how life makes a full circle. In the late 80's I had labrador retrievers, up until the mid-90's when I discovered the Hungarian Vizsla. From 1997 up till now I have continued to own vizslak. In 2000 I met a man who was helping me locate a foreign dog & we became good friends. This is the year(2000) I got my first import to the USA. Was very excited to have what no one else had, a wirehaired vizsla & smooth hair vizsla. This is when I decided to import dogs for other friends. Bringing in new blood lines is the request from everyone.
In July 2003, I became a widow & my life seems to come to a halt. I had planned a trip to go to Hungary with my spouse in October 2003....tickets all paid for, I was hoping to meet the breeders that I have imported from.
My Mother said " Let's GO !!!" so we did....10 days visiting dog shows,breeders,field trials,Museums,culture and goulash....yummmmmy :)
It wasn't till we were actually on the plane and my mother said to me " Amy, did you ever think you would travel these places at this time of your life?" I said "no...I never did but my love for dogs has brought me here & the love of dogs will bring me again" I was HOOKED !!!!! Since then I have been to Hungary,Netherlands,Germany,Luxembourg,England & Czeck....So my life of travel & dog duties continues these days.... ( to be continued....)
It has lead me to the place I am today....8 Vizsla later....(plus a new man in my life)...You know the rest of the story :)
